Crozet Petitions County Executive - At its meeting last Thursday, the Crozet Community Association (CCA) formally introduced resolutions regarding four issues facing the Crozet community and County at large.
The resolutions, which can be viewed below, are addressed to Albemarle County executive Jeff Richardson and “urgently request” that he lead and complete a set of specific and immediate corrective actions by July 31st, including:
Finalizing an agreement to build the Eastern Avenue Connector before supporting a recommendation to rezone a 33-acre property at the same location for a high-density residential development known as Oak Bluff
Ensuring a connective wildlife corridor and pedestrian path are mandatory requirements of the Eastern Avenue Connector bridge design
Enforcing the County’s Water Protection Ordinance to “daylight” the Montclair stream which was buried underground by a developer
Re-establishing buffers on streams that have been buried across the County
Documenting that the boundaries of each of the County’s designated development areas, including Crozet, will not be expanded in accordance with related Virginia law

"The purpose of these resolutions is to explain how the County could quickly solve some of Crozet's biggest problems," said Tim Tolson, President of the CCA. "We want to work with the County to achieve our common goals: clean water, a high-quality Eastern Avenue Connector, and sustainable growth."
”It is entirely appropriate that these resolutions come from the Crozet Community Association, which has represented the community since 1985,” said Tom Loach, a long-standing advocate for the Crozet community. “The first resolutions call for the County to right environmental wrongs, while another requests the County not allow development where there is no supporting infrastructure. The final one states the obvious, that being the fact there is no need for growth area expansion,” said Loach.
White Hall Supervisor Ann Mallek had this to say: “I appreciate Crozetians’ devotion of to their greater community and their willingness to work carefully and deliberately for improvements. There are questions needing answers, and these well researched petitions will help to push the conversation forward.”

Crozet Farmers Market Is Open for the Season - Shop local every Saturday from 8 AM to noon at the Crozet Farmers Market, located in the lot next to the Crozet Post Office. Find fresh, locally grown produce, vibrant plants and flowers, artisan handcrafts, and delicious baked goods. Vendor fees support area food banks, so every purchase helps our community. Come out and support your local farmers and makers.

Crozet Crepe Company Now Open - The Crozet Crepe Company has officially opened its doors at 325 Four Leaf Lane, Suite 8 in Old Trail Village across from Harris Teeter. Stop by Tuesday–Friday from 7 AM–3 PM or weekends from 8 AM–3 PM (closed Mondays). It’s first come, first served—no reservations.
The menu spans sweet and savory crepes, classic breakfast platters, waffles, sandwiches, and fresh salads. Highlights include the Charleston breakfast crepe with steak and Boursin, the Velvet Goat savory crepe with caramelized onions and goat cheese, and indulgent sweet options like the Apple Pie Morning or French Kiss with Nutella and strawberries.

Still Got an Arm? Join Crozet’s 2026 Men’s Baseball Team - Crozet local Nick Kirchner is gauging interest in forming a Crozet-based team for the Blue Ridge Men’s Baseball League—a local wood bat league for players 21+, with most participants in their 30’s and 40’s. The season runs April–August with mostly Sunday games, 9 innings each, and built-in weeks off for holidays.
The team aims for a 20-player roster to balance full- and part-time players and keep costs down. If you’re interested in joining—or know someone who might be—fill out the interest form to stay in the loop as plans develop.

On The Lighter Side
