Hops Kitchen Returns to PRN! - Chef Mike is back at Pro Re Nata Brewpub & Music Hall starting Wed, Sept 24 at 4 PM, serving favorites like Buffalo Cauliflower, Award-Winning Nachos, Thai-Chicken Lettuce Wraps, and Za Spot Detroit-Style Pizza.

Now Falling: Acorns! - Acorns, black walnuts, and chestnuts are hitting the ground across Virginia - and many will never grow into trees. You can help!

The Virginia Department of Forestry is collecting acorns and nuts to grow future forests, including hard-to-find species that thrive in Virginia. Collections are a fun, educational way to get outside and contribute to your community.

How to help:

Bag it – Use a paper bag or cardboard box (no plastic).
Tag it – Label with species, date, and location. Include a leaf if unsure of the species.
Drop it – Bring your collection to any DOF office by Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Species of particular interest this year: Black Oak, Black Walnut, White Oak, among others.

Opportunity: Part-Time Office Manager/Administrator at Here to Stay in Wintergreen - Here to Stay in Wintergreen (HSW) is a nonprofit helping neighbors live safely and independently in their Wintergreen homes. They’re looking for a creative, organized part-time Office Manager/Administrator to support members, volunteers, and programs.

Role Highlights:

Coordinate member and volunteer scheduling for HSW and Blue Ridge Respite
Track memberships, payments, renewals, and volunteer hours
Handle office tasks, email/phone inquiries, supplies, newsletter support, and website updates

The position is 10–15 hours per week and reports to HSW’s Board President.
