Introducing FrontPorch – Your Hub for Everything Local

For years, we have used DiscoverCrozet to help you find what’s happening around town. But our community keeps growing, and so has the demand for local updates. Our mission has always been to spotlight local businesses, events, and causes — and it’s working. More local businesses, nonprofits, and community groups are reaching out than ever before.

That’s why we created FrontPorch, a new home for everything happening in Crozet, Afton, White Hall, Ivy, Batesville, and beyond.

What’s New
The FrontPorch Calendar makes it easy to explore events by date, location, or category. Whether you’re planning your weekend or looking for something new to try, it’s all in one place.

We’ve also added a Community Post Page, a digital bulletin board for sharing what’s happening around town. Local groups, restaurants, artists, and nonprofits can all post updates, announcements, and opportunities — no noise or bots, just real community.

The Goal
Finding local businesses, events, and charities shouldn’t be hard. FrontPorch makes it easy to stay informed, connected and support the people who make this area special.

As a small local business ourselves, we’ll be rolling out new features and improvements to the site over the next few weeks, but we’re excited to finally share what we’ve been working on.

Winter Wander Lights Up Boar’s Head This Weekend - Winter Wander returns to Boar’s Head Resort starting Friday, Nov. 14, and will run every weekend (Friday–Sunday) through Jan. 3, 2026.

The illuminated lakeside trail features thousands of lights, new displays like the Glistening Grove and Enchantment District, and special themed nights throughout the season.

✨ Highlights:

• Drone Shows: Nov. 15–16 & Dec. 17–18 (6 & 8 p.m.)

• Fireworks: Dec. 31 at 8 p.m.

• SPCA Dog Nights: Nov. 21–23 & Jan. 1–3 (dogs welcome!)

WAHS Fall Plays: A Night of One-Acts - Western Albemarle High School’s Drama Department presents A Night of One-Act Plays featuring three performances: Play With Your Food, The Outsiders, and 8 Minutes Left — a mix of comedy, classic drama, and reflection.
