Around Town

Learn about expansion plans for Crozet Park - The Crozet Community Association (CCA) will meet at the Crozet Library on Tuesday, January 6th at 7:00 PM to learn about new plans for Crozet Park and to elect officers for 2026. (Please note the change from the meeting’s usual date, time, and location.) The full agenda can be found by clicking here. All community members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The CCA was founded 40 years ago as a community-led association to protect, preserve, and enhance our Crozet community. In addition to organizing the annual Independence Day celebration, the CCA serves as our watch dog and is a forum where neighbors can share their concerns and find opportunities to volunteer in our community.

Free personal hygiene products available - The Crozet Cares Closet is holding a “Distribution Day” this Saturday, January 3rd from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at 7585 Rockfish Gap Turnpike. For those receiving SNAP benefits, or who just need a little extra financial support, Crozet Cares Closet will be offering personal hygiene products and household cleaning supplies free of charge.

If you are in a position to donate these items to neighbors that need them, click the image below to visit the CCC website to learn more about how to support their vital mission.

Did you know that SNAP benefits can’t be used for basic hygiene products? Fortunately for our community, Crozet Cares Closet offers these items for free.

Trivia

Southwest Airlines began as a simple sketch on a cocktail napkin in a hotel bar. The start-up plan aimed to disrupt the aviation industry by flying intrastate connecting three major cities in a "triangle" with low-cost, high-frequency flights.

In which U.S. state did these three original destination cities reside?
