Horse and Hen

Beloved local catering business changes hands - After more than three decades of serving Central Virginia with exceptional cuisine and heartfelt hospitality, Mark and Vickie Gresge are announcing the sale of L’etoile catering. They want to thank their many wonderful customers, staff, and partnerships, and are grateful to say they achieved their goals!

We are pleased to welcome Schuyler Cox and Christina Lemus-Cox as the new owners of L'etoile. As they step into their role, they aim to maintain the same schedule on your favorite soup for porch pick-up and Friday meals, featuring local ingredients and the same community warmth you've all come to love!”

The current menu includes local trout, coq au vin, local spinach quiche, braised short ribs and farro beet salad with edible flowers. Place your orders for a Special Friday Valentine's Day meal by 12pm on Thursday. Or stop by 10-5 to pick up dark chocolate mousse on the front porch!

Vigil for the Harris Teeter tragedy - Crozet United Methodist Church (CUMC) invites you to a community candlelight vigil to acknowledge the 1st anniversary of the tragedy that happened at Harris Teeter. The vigil will be held in CUMC’s Sanctuary on Monday, February 16, from 6:00-7:00 PM.

This event is open to the public and intended to extend care to our community. It will be an opportunity to gather together in a quiet space to honor the many losses resulting from this tragedy. There will be music for reflection, silence for prayer, readings for meditation, and candles to bring light to the darkness.

“It is hard to believe it has been almost a year. We hope this will create an opportunity for remembrance and community healing.”

The church is located at 1156 Crozet Ave. You don’t need to be a member of the church to attend this vigil...all are welcome.
