Around Town
Roundabout Opening This Week - After a long wait, the new roundabout at Route 240 and Route 250 is set to open to the new traffic pattern on Thursday. Drivers should be alert as the intersection shifts to the roundabout design for the first time.
The project is estimated to have cost about $3.5 million and is intended to improve traffic flow at one of Crozet’s busiest intersections as the area continues to grow.
Everyone will be watching to see how much congestion the roundabout helps alleviate. Read more → CBS19

Walnut Creek Sprint Adventure Race - Crozet Racing is back this month with the Walnut Creek Sprint Adventure Race on March 21st at 10:00 AM. This year’s event is a special one: it marks the race directorial debut of local 8th-grader Johnathan as part of his school service project. (The more participants who sign up, the better his grade!)
The race is a 4-hour "sprint" covering roughly 10 miles of hiking, mountain biking, and paddling. It’s designed for everyone—from solo pros to families and first-time racers. Best of all, the race supports Heroes on the River, a local charity for veterans.
— Cost: FREE if you bring your own boat! (Canoe/Kayak rentals available via Rivanna River Co. for ~$35).
— The Course: Navigate 500+ acres of woods, singletrack, and water at Walnut Creek Park.
— The Schedule: Check-in at 9:00 AM; Race starts at 10:00 AM.

Trivia
St. Patrick’s Day celebrates Ireland’s patron saint and has been widely celebrated in Ireland for centuries. But the first recorded St. Patrick’s Day parade didn’t take place in Ireland at all. Where was the first St. Patrick’s Day parade in 1601? |
